The Vandenberg Coalition’s Valiant Women Series brings together up-and-coming female professionals to interact with leading women in the national security space. Our distinguished speakers discuss U.S. foreign policy challenges as well as their unique experiences navigating careers in Washington, DC. These regular, off-the-record events offer an opportunity to engage with high-profile professionals in an intimate, candid setting while expanding your network with other young and emerging national security experts in our nation’s capital. What are the unique challenges -and opportunities- faced by female leaders? How can we effectively navigate a high pressure, male-dominated environment? In what ways do we unintentionally limit our own growth? How can we align our personal goals with our professional ones? Former speakers include former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL), former Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Deputy National Security Advisor for Cyber Anne Neuberger, and Amb. Aldona Woś, among others.
Our Valiant Women Series was inspired by Dr. Lena Andrews’s 2023 book, Valiant Women: The Extraordinary American Servicewomen Who Helped Win World War II. Valiant Women tells the stories of incredible women who served in every service branch, in every combat theater, and in nearly two-thirds of the available military occupations at the time. These women—who hailed from every race, creed, and walk of life—died for their country and received the nation’s highest honors. Their work, both individually and in total, was at the heart of the Allied strategy that won World War II. You can read more about Valiant Women here.
