Madison Sparber is a Legislative Assistant for Senator Ted Cruz (R–TX). Previously, she served as Deputy Director of Programs at the Project 2049 Institute’s China Economic and Strategy Initiative (CESI), where she focused on U.S.-China competition in defense, technology, and economic statecraft. She previously worked at the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments (CSBA) as a defense analyst translating Mandarin sources on Chinese military doctrine. Before joining CSBA, she served in the Secretary of State’s Office of Policy Planning, where she helped publish the Secretary’s seminal report “Elements of the China Challenge.” She began her career on the Senate Armed Services Committee in support of legislation for the annual National Defense Authorization Act. In addition to her current role, she is a graduate student at the Naval War College, earning a Master of Arts in Defense and Strategic Studies with a concentration in Information Operations.
